The latest in the ongoing friction between burgeoning grizzly bear populations and humans in Montana escalated the week of September 17, 2017. Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks reported a single grizzly killed ten–you read right–ten calves in a short time span near Dupuyer. The department has responded to numerous, and increased, complaints across the state during the summer as grizzlies continue to expand their range well beyond the Glacier National Park region. This latest incident comes after two attacks on humans in one week occurred earlier this month.
