Smith & Wesson’s and Thompson Center’s parent company, American Outdoor Brands Corp., announced it will buy Fish Tales, LLC, maker of Bubba Blade hunting and fishing knives. The acquisition follows last year’s buyout of Taylor Brands, LLC which made Schrade, Uncle Henry, Old Timer, and Imperial knives.
The merger marks the continued consolidation in the outdoor equipment and accessory industry, which shows no signs it is slowing anytime soon. How this will affect Bubba Blades quality remains unclear, and how AOB plans to position the knives in their product mix has not yet been announced.
