Idaho game authorities announced this week they will move forward with a proposed grizzly bear hunt for 2018. While the hunt is still in the feasibility study phase, odds are the state will finalize plans by May. Idaho’s efforts coincide with Wyoming’s intent to offer a limited grizzly hunt (24 tags), as well.
Montana halted their planned 2018 hunt last month. Fish, Wildlife, and Parks bowed to pressure from out-of-state animal rights radicals and anticipated defense costs for multiple threatened law suits under the guise they need more time to study the issue. Montana still has a keen interest in limited griz hunting, and most sources anticipate a hunt will occur sometime in the future.
