Should hunters carry backup guns? We think so, and recommend it. Backups serve many purposes. Besides, it’s just common sense to have a Plan B when you’re out in the wilderness.

We divided our backup handguns list into two distinct categories: guns for those in bear country and those who are not. A hunter’s needs in each situation are unique with little overlap.
