Feds May Delist More Montana Grizzly Bears

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in cooperation with Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks has begun the process to remove grizzly bears in the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem from the endangered species list.  Grizzlies in the Yellowstone system have already been delisted.

The process for the Northern Continental Divide could take at least two years once it is officially launched.  The Yellowstone delisting has already drawn six law suits from various special interest and lobbying groups.  A proposed Yellowstone grizzly hunt is on hold due to a temporary injunction pending further judicial review.

To lend your support for delisting, contact the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and your Congressional Representatives and Senators.  Montana residents should also contact Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks.
